I swear Jeff said that the owners pumped in shy of 300 million leaving 40 million of debt still at Liverpool ? i can't remember what Tommo said but he did rant on about ground sharing with Everton

the Ł40m it called operating debt, EVERY team in the premiership has it. the major factor is, on top of that, we have to find Ł2m a year, which is the second lowest in the premiership, under gillette and hicks, the loan payments alone were Ł40m a year on top of the operating debt, so before we even started, we need Ł80m+ a year to finance the debt alone. under the new owners, with the opeprating debt, which i said, every team has, we dont have any loans secured against the club, and, were Ł40m a year better off. that money can be invested in the club, wether it be in players, or the new stadium/redevloping anfield, and, we dont have to be in the top 4 or champions league, which under gillette and hicks, we had to be, just to be able to finance the debt.

liverpool as a business, is very profitable, they make a lot of money, but all of that money, was being swallowed up paying debts against the club, especially as we have no champions league money these days. IF we can get back in the top 4, with no debt, and champions league money, there will be a lot of profit available to invest in the team, but even without champions league money, there will still be a lot of money available, but as i said, its not of paramount importance we finish in the top under the new owners, as there is no debt secured against the club, under the old owners, there was huge pressure to finish in the top 4, because we had to, just to stay in business.


finacially, there is one team in the premiership, that has less overall running costs than liverpool, after operating debt. hence why our future looks rosie.
