Saw 2 kids tonight on the way home, on bikes, arsing about in traffic. Cycling proper dangerously. Went down this steep road and the one chap had rode off, I saw the other (doing mega speed) front wheel start to wobble and he was thrown off. I saw him there lying still, and was like OMG.

It took me about 6-7 minutes to go back round because of the traffic and one-way street.

Saw him and his mate there, his mate still on the floor, and had his sock off. His mum was on the way over, and he seemed ok, but could be such a different story! They were probably around 10 or 11!

I just looked in my rear view mirror to see him not moving after he fell off, my heart came in my mouth as it could have been my son. As I wouldnt want anyone to have left my son to check he was ok, thats when I drove back round.

So, if you have lads around that age, and they like to go off on their bikes, mention what Ive said on here. A real eye-opener..

when i first read the title of the thread i thought it was like a facebook profile update

it took him 5 mins to stop laughing then 1-2 mins to turn around and go back

we used to stick cooking apples in our wheels then race down the big hill, when you got to about 30 the wheel would lift off and go all over, at 35 the apples flew out of the wheel :blub:

i once hit a garage wall when i was flat out in 21st (cry) bent the top bar of the bike at the headstock but i was fine, slowed me down tho for a day or 2
