Focus 1.8 gearbox wrong

Focus 1.8 gearbox wrong
Hello looking for some help, needed a new gearbox for my 99 1.8 TD bought one at breakers and mechanic told me it doesnt fit.Only thing I know is he pointed out the reverse switch is different than on my own gearbox.Another mechanic told him it would fit but phoned me later to say it didnt,heard there are two gearboxes which are different did I get the wrong one?

Dont know just going by what the mechanic said and hope I get my cash back from breakers to go get the right one.Am hoping they gave me the 2.0 gearbox which is supposed to be different from the 1.8.

Focus 1.8TD uses an MTx75 box. Lift up reverse. Ideally you want one from a similar car (another 1.8TD Focus). I don't recall the facelifts having a modification on the MTx so should be fine as long as you have an MTx75 from a 1.8TD. There isn't a non turbo diesel focus either...

I asked for a 1.8 TD box and thats what it says on receipt but mechanic tried but it didnt fit.Need my focus so hoping that they gave me the wrong one so I can get the one that fits,gonna take the two gearboxes and try to get it sorted, thanks for the replies much appreciated,William.
