the latest is, MR Broughton is making his way back to liverpool, where there will be a board meeting later today, to discuss the bidders, not as first thought, that NESV will be the new owners once the court desicion was made.

apparently, Peter Lim was the prefered bidder rite up until the last minute, when the NESV offer was accepted. MR Lim has since improved his offer, so it will be either or, NESV or MR Lim. but both will be paying off the clubs debt, so that, is the main thing.

as for the rite of appeal, the judge said today they dont have one, so beavis and butthead, are gone

1-PD ^^^^^^^^^^ lol but you felt compelled to both read and post on it.!!!!

At least it's not another derisory post about Dave and Helen.

That's why it's called GD. If you don't like it, don't read it.

IF, they accept Peter Lims bid, he has already said there is at least Ł40m to spend in january. his bid is higher than NESV, so if they get control of the club, who knows how much he will have to spend. they have said they intend to invest in players, but not when, or how much.

just read this

Keith Oliver, a solicitor acting for Hicks and Gillett, stated: "We are obviously disappointed with the judge's decision. Mr Hicks and Mr Gillett will now be considering their next steps and that will include whether to make an application to the Court of Appeal."

so it may not be all over just yet !!!

taken from skysports news

'The saga could rumble on for some time yet, with a takeover deal now needing to be thrashed out, but Hicks and Gillett have been refused the right to appeal, meaning one hurdle has been cleared'

they CANNOT appeal against the judges decision today, as the judge refused it. the CAN, go to the courts of appeal, but cases through the court of appeal, are only brought if there ANY uncertainty surrounding the case, there is not.

there were three things g&h tried in court,

1, stating they didnt break any agreement signed with RBS,

the judge said they did

2, saying they didnt break any rules by trying to sack the board last week when they found out the board had accepted an offer for the club

the judge said they did

and 3, trying to block the sale of the club

the judge said they cannot block the sale of the club, as its a majority vote, three board members, broughton, ayre & purslow, to the two, of gillette and hicks

there is no uncertainty surrounding anything to do with the case, EVERYTHING liverpool have done is above board, and within the laws/agreements made. EVERYTHING gillette and hicks have done, breaks the laws/agreements they signed and agreed to when they refinanced the debt with RBS

so basically, they can go to the court of appeal, but they cant appeal the judges decision today, as he removed the rite of appeal against his decision. so if they do go to the court of appeal, there wasting there time, they lost, hook, line, and sinker
