Default heatshield

Hello,

Quick question my heat shield that sits above the exhaust under the passenger seats area it has just been sitting on my exhaust for weeks now as around all the screws it has rust away and its been rattling like mad was just wondering if its safe to just take it off?

I took mine of for the exact same reason, had no probs with it so far. Mine is a mk6 escort though so might be different depending on yours.

I have a fiesta mk5 i have already taken it off as i couldnt take the noise any longer just wanted to check that it was ok to do so

Depends what's above or near it, if no fuel pipe runs will just allow a bit more heat into the cabin, may melt the under seal also, if a problem could always use heat wrap on the area/exhaust.
