i had a grey one. Was running 18psi, and could keep up with a lot of quicker car until about 80mph, then it would run out of turbo....

Reno5Turbos are proper fast when tuned properly, wicked cars.

Could piss on lightly tuned STi scoobys from 30 to 100+ in my old one, and bloke i know (jocks) can easy pull away from his mates early spec 911turbo from 100mph side by side on the M5

Specced properly and they wont run out of steam at any revs or speed, just out of gears, mine would rev clean off the rev counter (7500rpm+) and pull 700orpm+ in top with ease, needed an extra gear, but no way would i change the gearing to longer, loved the close gears

The old Renault 5 Turbo has become a very rare car these days. Shame really as they were stonking little motors. I have a lot of fondness for them

Never under-estimate them as just like RS's you never know just what they have done under the bonnet

one of the reasons thay blow up is cus thay dont have much protection, you can easly turn the boost up unlike the s2 witch will only allow 10 psi b4 the ecu kicks in then most idiots dont realise if you turn boost up the fueling has to be done or you have a weak mixture, weak mixture = boom

still a very quick car if done correct

they so very easy to modify which is good. I just had to drill my jet out a tad to run 18psi, standard headgasket was fine, and turbo never blew up or anything.

I had a light blue dimma wide arch with the old skool compomotive split rims a couple of years ago, used to be a demonstrator for 5ALIVE who imo know fook all about 5's anyway feeling urges to go out and buy one. Any idea how much a good example will go for now days?

for a top spec one id of thought 3k upward tbh but u can find a bargin just look about go see as many as u can look out for ones that have been bothced up also look on www.rtoc.org

funny u should mention that... my uncle is selling his reno 5 thats hes owned for 13 yrs!! and its an f reg! its a blue dimma with the split rims and is fast as fuk!!

u wont beleive this but in 13 yrs i personally have only seen him drive it twice and its only got 25k miles!!

the car is fast as ****.....when boost turned up its well over 220 bhp and on low its 200 bhp... the car was tuned by by graham goode racing about 10 yrs ago and had £££ thrown into it...

i personally thought he would never sell the car as its very sentimental to him

oh well if anyone is interested...
