4X4 Rear diff problem....I think??

Default 4X4 Rear diff problem....I think??

Opened up my diff today to check and clean,

All the teeth etc look ok.. But one thing Im not sure on...
I cant seem to move the planet gears? It's as if the diff is locked??
Is this normal or should the outputs move freely/independtly(spell)

Also is it an easy job to replace the pinion seal? Ive been advised that you can remove the flange without altering Pre load??

Shouldn't it only do this when one side spins alot faster than the other?

if youve got the all 4 wheels even off the ground you will strugle to turn any of teh 1/4 shafts, they will turn with force but should also move all the other wheels on the car also


and yes the pinion seal can be replaced on the sierra without preload being changed
