Default tmobile / orange customers

Ignore if its a repeat, I havent seen it on here before though.

Orange and T Mobile will allow you to roam free of charge on each others networks, drastically increasing your chance of getting coverage.

Fil, its not about owning, its about if you click the link and sign up then you can use both sets of transmitters at once which improves the percentage coverage you get, my mrs t-mobile phone has signal places my orange one doesnt and vice versa, but after signing up we then can both get signal everywhere the other one did as well

Let us know if you do

It actually shows "t-mobile" on the phone where it normally says "orange" when you are roaming so you can see if its working for you or not.

Just got all the texts and power off instructions etc, so the procedure certainly works. Wizzard news as I have been considering leaving orange recently due to signal issues in my new house area but am loathe too as ive been with them so long and have 8 magic numbers!

Sadly its another 1800 network they have joined with of course, so internal reception is still at a discinct disadvantage comapred to 02/voda with their better penetrating 900 frequency, but twice as many transmitters can only be a good thing, so hopefully you'll get lucky!

yep i see now, was at work on my phone ( t mobile ) hence not clicking the links.

Never had much of an issue with coverage, but more reception can only be a good thing

Cheers Chip, I did it this morning, just popped home from the office for some lunch, Orange network coverage is usually non-existent there, and it switched over to T-Mobile and I had full coverage, nice one!

Orange should've promoted this better, as I'd never heard of it up until now.

When i rang orange a few months ago about signal issues they said they were merging with t mobile and that would help and i may see t mobile on the screen but not to worry.

They never said i had to go on and sign up

Thanks for the info

I'm with T mobile using a HTC desire. Erm, should I set my phone to allow 'Data Roaming'?. I seem to think I should, but I get an alert telling me that I may incur significant charges?

I'm confused, as when I did the above link it suggested I should have this option on.

The iPhone has a similar warning but states charges when abroad so as long as you turn data roaming off when abroad you'll be fine

They'll be rolling it out to all customers later on, this is effectively just a trial of opt in participants to beta test it.
