i bought a car beginning of last month from a trader, no tax. i signed the log book but as yet haven't had a chance to post it, the car is still in my garage - i've not used it yet.

Only now i'm going away for a bit so not going to get a chance to tax it/drive it until november. Am i going to recieve a fine or anything as technically i've owned it since september and haven't had it taxed/sorned?

 

I'd sorn it to be on the safe side. My son didn't sorn his car, despite being told to do so by me and the dvla came and clamped it while it was parked on private land across the road from us. It has now been removed by them and crushed so he doesn't have to pay any fines.
