I need to convert a video source that outputs via a yellow phono plug, into a device that accepts an RGB signal.
The device has 8 conection points for wires that are
RGB Ground, VP, HP, YS
RGB Sync, B , G , R
I think its just the bottom 4 I need to get the device to show a picture.
Any diagrams or links to what will assist me?
Thanks.

http://www.keene.co.uk/electronic/cy.../CCR2SRGB.html will do you ![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
You'll need to wire up a SCART plug to bare end to connect to your application. Pinout is available from a number of sources - the one on Wikipedia is correct IIRC.

RGBS (composite sync)
RGsB (sync on green)
RGBHV (VGA)
All different to component video, although devices are often compatible with both.
Scart supports RGBS and RGsB IIRC. Some video recorders will convert from composite inputs to RGB, as will some DVD recorders.
Can you give me/us any more details on the application?

Its for the screen in my nissan navara, want to add a reversing camera, there is a company that do a plug and play box, well did cant seem to get them any more? @ around £250
http://www.nav.tv/category/7/75
with that above box, it conected into the loom, and shut off the sat nav / stereo info and displayed the camera view
Cant find any info of anyone doing it themselfs with a convertor of some sort
all i could find is what the pins were on the back of the screen, being
RGB Ground, VP, HP, YS
RGB Sync, B , G , R
also
ground, +12v batt, cont-disp, disp-cont, acc, shield, compo +, compo -, sync ground
herers a pdf of the nav-tv box,
http://www.clifford.nl/pdf/navtv/UK-...V-INNISUNI.pdf
looks like only 4 wires needed to my screen to get it display a picture

If 4 wires then it's probably RGsB + ground. To prove, use process or elimination:
Test 1) Make a bodge lead from VGA male to RGBHV. VGA HD-DB15 connectors have individual grounds for each colour and sync signal. You can combine the 3 colours and the 2 syncs to give you an RGB ground and a sync ground. Connect laptop to screen and try all the resolutions it'll let you.
Test 2) Have Sky, or an XBOX classic or similar? Buy an adapter or cable that goes from scart to Red, Green, Blue and Yellow (make sure it's and OUT lead, or switchable). Connect RGB and yellow to RGB sync.
If neither of those work then it's either expecting sync-on-green or the pinout is wonky.
