picked up my new 2wd saff a few weeks ago, i was told when i bought it the iscv wasnt working, it struggled to tick over when cold for the first minute or so, but fine when warm. so i took it out and it was clean so i presumed it was knackered.
so i bought a second hand one, fitted it, no difference.
unplugged it and again no difference,
decided to have a play with it thismorning, and found one of the wires had snapped off in the top of the plug, so i repaired it, and put it back together with the new iscv.
started her up and the idle is about 3k![Confused](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
swapped it back to the original valve and its the same.
base idle must be fine as it ticks over perfect, circa 850 rpm when up to temp.
the only thing i can see is the nuts in the bottom of the iscv are different on the 2 valves, the original has only 2-3mm of thread showing, the new one has 5-6mm.
any ideas?

What he ^^ said, it is being told to do this almost certainly by TPS, as you found out the item itself is ok it's normally always down to the wiring etc. Get it hot and then reconnect and see what the idle is, it should raise for a second then drop back to base idle.
