working class are us people in normal jobs,
middle class people are the ones who think they are better than they really are.
usualy in civil servant type jobs i guess
usualy the ones who drive chelsea tractors.
im surrounded by them in islington and stokenewington.

The lines are massively blurred these days.
IT for example, could be anywhere along that line.
Historically though anything you required a degree or similar level of education for tended to be considered a middle class job effectively.
In army terms, sergeant = working class, officer = middle class.

yer, he keeps saying he's middle class and the bunch of people in it with him also. But I ca't understand how or why as they are no better off than me? He refers to people on estates whether they are council house or private as working class, thats why I asked. His defenition seems to be where you live.

The BEST thing I've ever seen about this topic was Prescott's documentary on the class system.
He asked some scuzzy single mum living in a hostel on benefits if she thought she was middle or working class and she said middle "Cos I ain't working am I".

Funny really. I think class divides are not as bad as they used to be, however are still there.

drives an audi a4 s-line, very well spoken, mrs is a teacher. they are part of the area council team i consider them to be very middle class and he lives in a flat? am i wrong for that

working class work hard and party harder
middle class work less for more money and cant handle the "stress" and die early due to worrying about fook all
upper class drink far to much pimms, play too much croquet, have butlers called jeeves and say "what" "boundah" and "cad" far too much

my thoughts on middle class is where father works a decent job, mum has alot of time to herself, talks a bit posh, kids who think they are from the ghetto but wouldn't last 5 minutes in a rough neighbourhood and secretly know it.

afew of your comments have been spot on
nothing worse than some one who classes them self as middle class, an rubs it in ya face. tbh i had a good one when i was 18 my mom died of cancer an i had a totally payed for house with money left to me. had some posh div in the bank looking down his nose at me because i was in joggers a looked like the local chav lol he passed over a comment to the cashier saying 'coming to put his gyro in him' an as i knew her she went no actually unlike u he aint got 50k worth of debt but has a house an a lot of money in the bank. needless to say he left dragging his jaw an the cheap pin strip suit out to his financed audi tt an best bit he couldnt look at me. love them situations lmao

If they dont like that low level of pay, then they should change to another job that has a higher level of pay, IF they can be bothered with the work required to get there in the first place of course, rather than just moan uselessly about it

I saw that, classic line. Can't believe he kept a straight face when she said that.
