Default Cars you wish you'd never sold!

Just been reading the thread about a guy looking for his old XR3 and a few people have got involved saying about some cars that they wish they'd held onto and it got me thinking. I bet most people on here have a car in their mind they'd wish they had hung onto, so lets hear about it.

As with cars, its not necessarily about how much they'd be worth etc, everyone has their reasons for wanting an old car back. Also, has anyone actually sold a car and then bought it back however long later?!?

Bit tricky for me as most of the cars i've sold have been as a result of them breaking down (i have a thing for french cars!) But mine would probably be either my 205 gti or 309 gti, which i sold at roughly the same time. The 205 was like a little go kart and was a right laugh, and the 309 absolutely flew and sounded like no other car i've ever had, was pretty mint too. Edit, ive changed my mind! I had a Mk5 escort SI when i was 19, it was the absolute bollocks at the time, sold it when the second gearbox went! But wish i still had it now.

Some come on, whats yours?

My impreza type ra. Was a limited WRC edition. Couldn't afford to run it so sold it then 3 months after got a 5k pay rise. Seen it for sale since but was over 400miles away.

I've always regretted selling my Fiesta RS Turbo. It wasn't anything amazing but was just so clean and tidy and I found it more fun to drive than my saph.

My Fiesta. Had big plans for it and loads of really nice parts. Rare RS accessory bumpers, a stage 3 2.0 Zetec engine on throttle bodies, carbon fibre roof and bonnet, Wilwood four pots, respray in dark Audi grey then i discovered the floor and sills were badly rotten when I pulled it to bits for the re spray and my Series 2 came up for sale too cheap to turn down. Really would have loved to finish it though

Before I took it to bits. Was a real head turner.

My 1978 mk3 2 litre Capri Ghia in beige with chocolate interior... Keep thinking of getting another but not really practical atm. I WILL have another at some point though. Sold my mk3 Escort cabriolet turbo to a mate and I could buy it back but knowing how he drives I think I'm best off leaving it alone lol

i must have been lucky with your old car mate, never once gave me the slightest bit bother in 6 months! Just sold it last week.

2 x cars i regret selling, had a mint E plate black XR2 which i loved to bits and not very exciting, but had a mint mk1 Mondeo 2.0 Si saloon with full RS kit and lowered on 16s etc, was a brilliant car

matt- i to had a black escort si when i was 19 which was an amazing condition car but i got fed up with it when it did its 2nd gearbox! i dont necessarily regret selling any cars but i do wish i could go back in time to times when i had certain cars like about 6yrs ago when me and some mates for some reason all had crap run about cars, we'd race them round farmers fields and everything. Fucking funny laugh a minute times, these days everyones moved on and settling down etc so arent even about anymore.

So was my Si, when i bought it, lovely condition it was, but being 19 and in a quickish car i soon fucked it up!! If i had it now i could easily fix it up but back then i didnt know what i know now, so went out and bought a 19 16v and scrapped the Escort as didnt have room for it. Bad times!

Cracking example of a 19 that mate, on the outside! If im not mistaken, didnt it need a shitload of welding when you sold it? Or am i thinking of another one?

A very mint XR4i in White.

It had just had a full resto when i bought it and came with Ł4k of reciepts

I cried when the bloke drove away in it.

A friend took a photo of it a few months later, it had been rolled
