Default Phone socket? how to get connected? ring BT?

As title, if a phone socket is present/installed but not connected i know i have to ring BT but just wondered would they do it straight away or would they fanny around telling me it will take 1-2 weeks etc? and also how much will they sting us for?

Last time I moved house it cost around £75 to get bt to come and connect it up,2 fookin mins is all they were in aswell,rogue bast#rds

All depends on what's there, if the line is still connected all the way to the exchange, or if it will
Need connecting externally,
Sure the wait is a good 2 weeks on provision.

Best to ring and find out, but I've heard that the cheapest provider for inslation charge in royal mail/ post office,
But sky, talk talk etc are worth a try aswell

You still need an active BT line for Sky!

Ask them and point out that you might be getting cable so they would have to be competetive.....
