Has anyone steam cleaned a cossie engine or is it a no-no?
I want to clean up the bottom of my engine, around the sump etc and ive got a bit of an oil leak but i cant determin where its coming from amongst all the crud that around.

Should be fine around the bottom of the engine, you just have to be carefull steaming near electrics wires ect
I always done my engine by hand with a good degreaser and some old towels

You should ok if the engine is cold, the problem occurs when the engine is hot, so is the air inside the dizzy cap, blasting with a water jet causes the air to condense inside the cap and cause misfires, but will be perfectly ok doing the bottom of engine.

Steam cleaning is much better than Jet washing for an engine but I've used both on mine. As said just make sure the engine is cold & use plenty of degreaser.
