i have a fiesta xr2i 8v and on startup there doesn't appear to be any smoke but if i give it a run then let it sit and idle for a bit (roughly about a min or 2) it starts blowing smoke (also sometimes when driving i notice it) which to me looks blue so i now its oil it also smells oily i think it might be the valve stem oil seals but not sure hopefully its not piston rings . could anyone give me a better opinion

i had the same on a engine i had rebuilt the bottom end but not the head would smoke when warmed up and idleing after a run comp tested the engine and it was ok so put it down to the head
