Im currently looking for my next tv. I have a 40" sony bravia in my livingroom and its kicking on 3 years old so its time to replace it.
Been looking at a few LED tvs and Plasmas.
Im looking at getting something a bit bigger than 40" if its plasma and 40" for an LED due to prices, got around a grand to spend.
I mainly use the tv for my xbox 360 and sky hd but not very often. Needs to be 1080p too.
Any ideas folks??

Yeah about a grand to stretch to. Ideally looking at a 50" plasma but is there any reason for having a led tv?

If you're using it for gaming, get a plasma. LCD motion blur really doesn't help you when gaming.
Best bet is a Panasonic TX-P50G20B - RRP 1350, available cheaper online or costco.
Also available is the .....V20B, which is a 'premium' version @ 1542 RRP.

Another option, if you haven't considered it, is to keep your plasma for day-to-day, and get a projector for some big-screen film and gaming action.
84" electric non-tensioned screen (you get away with non-tensioned at this size) is Ł250, bit less with some googling.
Epson 1080p projector - http://www.google.co.uk/products?cli...=next&start=20
You can get a PJ bracket for Ł40-50.
If you're happy doing the install yourself then that's not a massive budget stretch for a lot more image.

They're fine, but rely on processing to achieve decent contrast ratios. If watching in a dark environment you will notice that black levels are poor. If gaming you will notice the typical LCD blurring. If watching films you will notice the processing causing big flat patches of black.
....in comparison to a good plasma.
