my car was a 1.8 but now has a st170 with bike throttle boddies and running well
i was wondering if the st170/rs hubs and calipers are the only route for 2.0 or below?
is there other scrapyard cars i can get parts from to avoid geting my ass raped by the st/rs prices?
cheers

the only way to go bigger on a normal focus is st170 hubs. you can use mk3 mondeo callipers if you want to save a few quid though.
i recomend the st170 upgrade, its awsome!!

wont the mk3 mondeo calipers fit? i know they fit onto a mk1/mk2 mondeo, and also st170 calipers fit straight onto a mk1/mk2 mondeo, as do focus ST2 calipers with 320mm disks (but they need the disks drilled to 4-stud).
i thought the FRS brembo's will fit onto other types of hub quite easy by using custom caliper brackets / carriers?
also i heard (dunno how true it is) that Fiat coupe and some alfa romeo brembo's are the same as FRS brembos but often sell for alot less dosh because they dont have RS in the listing title.

Yes, but the focus has the knuckle and the caliper carrier cast as one piece, so you can't fit any other calipers to it. The ST170 and RS have knuckles with bolted on carriers that the calipers then bolt to, to make upgrading possible!

As has already been mentioned you will need the RS or st170 hubs/knuckles before you can go bigger on the mk1 focus.
The RS ones are really rare, st170's come up from time to time around £250 on ebay inc calipers and discs.
I have the st170 ones fitted to my focus;
