No mate,

2 x English pointers

2 x West Highland Whtie Terriers

If I did get a Bully I would get a pup so they grew up together. Do you
have one?
Do you think this would be a prob??

Cheers,

Neil.

as said they dont mix well with other dogs especially yapping terriers. they are very stubborn and are not as bright as staffs or pit bulls but are great dogs all the same.

Yes it will be a problem mate , even if you do buy a pup

I desperately wanted one and done the proper thing by speaking to dealers and even joined a forum especially for them . I gained loads of valuable info and one thing everyone said was that they did NOT mix well with other dogs once they got to 18 months old .

They are extremely territorial dogs mate and I seriously advise you buying one with other breeds in your home .

If you try and buy one from a good genuine reliable breeder and say you have other breeds they will not sell you one mate as they know what will happen

would you say they need to be grown up with the kids though, or would they act jealous if the kid cam along, speaking in the future sense

i dont have one now but i have had one, i have also owned both the other bull breeds. yes i would trust one with kids or as far as you can trust any dog with kids. they are very protective of family members so you need to be aware what your doing with strangers [ strange to the dog that is ] ie: fooling about with a mate could end up with him getting bitten. they are quite slow to mature but at about 18 months old you will find they are no longer tollerant of other dogs etc. i have actually witnessed one sticking its head under a pig sty door to try and grab the pigs in order to pull them out. these where full grown pigs and the dog took a terrible beating but went back for more.

No , if the child came along after the dog would be more protective of it .

When we had out staff and our first born arrived we couldnt get near the baby for the dog when ever we went near him the dog would be right there staring at you

Ours even slept by the cot and when you went near the baby in the night just to check on him he would bare his teeth and growl at you

Iv got four ebt s , and as above, i wouldnt reccomend getting a bully if you
already have four other dogs, as it is i have to keep two totaly apart, they
would try and kill each other at any given chance, and thats mother , and
daughter,

best bull i have had was a mixture of the three breeds. she was a brindle bitch her father was pit bull cross english bull her mother a big staff bitch.
she was superb with kids, cats, chickens and other dogs. she never once started a fight but she finished plenty.

Your F right they dont. I went to my mate ians house one evening on my bike.

Now I'd met his dog a few times, walked it, crashed on his sofa with the dog in the room, fought it for one of my shoes at 3 am, that sort of thing..

Walked in the house in my leathers - The fucking thing went for me!
Bit through my leathers - it wasn't messing about!
Ian kicked it harder than I ever would and shut it in the kitchen.
Let it out half an hour later - It went for me AGAIN!
(5 or 6 other people there - it was fine with them)

Its always shut away if I go round there now.. but it still goes fucking mental in the other room.

Bastard unpredictable animal - wants shooting!

My mate at work has a bitch one. She is very well trained and he claims she can understand about 40 commands. Most dogs apparently can only understand about 25. She is very loyal and travels well. He has a special seat belt thing for her to be strapped in the back of the car.

As others have said, does not mix well with other dogs and to make matters worse, is fearless of other dogs! Very nice temprament towards humans though.

I'm on my third staffie now and can honestly say that they have a better temprement than english bulls. My cousin has had english bulls all his life and has bred them too, he loves them to bits but has to keep them apart and in a large enclosure in his yard/ extension.......staffys you can leave around kids, dogs and strangers and not worry about them until you tell them "WHO'S THAT!!" then mine would kill the fookin thing, lol, she goes mental

Just to add my two pence worth, English Bulls like many bull and Molosser style breeds are dominant BUT as long as they're socialised well from a young age they'll be FINE with other dogs (both yours and others) just as any other breed. ANY dog not properly socialised will have some problems interacting with other dogs.
They're good with kids - not quite the same sense of humour or patience with them as Staffs do IMO - but if your kids are young you should never leave them in a room alone with ANY dog to be honest.

There's no such breed as a British Bull Terrier, there's the English Bull Terrier, British Bulldog (which was used to cross with terrier types to create Bull Terriers), Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier and American Bulldog mostly in this country (the American Pit Bull Terrier is banned in this country).

As for American Pit bulls, I know someone who wons one, its a female and quite old apprently they bought it before the ban was endorsed and therefore are allowed to keep it is this right

Chipper yeah that's kind of right mate but they have to follow guidelines and restrictions set out by the Dangerous Dogs Act (can't breed it or sell it, has to keep it on a lead and in a muzzle in public etc.). Pit Bull Terriers got a shite reputation mostly through the huge amount of strays that appeared in America in the late 80s and early 90s and roamed around in packs, many attacking people. Again, if bred for the right temperament and disciplined correctly from an early age they can be just as good as a 'pet' as Staffies etc.
