Totally agree and it's also the reason I prefer the M3 to the Cosworth, I don't like people looking at me lol and I don't like the unwanted attention when it's parked up

PassionFord Post Whore!!
You could but I was never brave enough to try it, I wouldn't even leave it on my driveway! On the other hand I'm quite happy to leave Impreza's and the M3 on the drive I must have been paranoid.

Cheers for all the opinions lads
Well after an awsome time on track yesterday at silverstone its reminded me why i gotta keep the old girl. proper grin factor and she didnt miss a beat.
as mentioned by quite a few, a saph and an e46 m3 are completely different cars. which is why the m3 would be my daily but i could never do that with a cossie.
I want a car that is as new, exotic and rapid as i can stretch too, so e46 M3 vert fits the bill! even if it'll take me a couple years to pay off the extra.
and as for a lot of you slating the vert option, yeh it wont be as great a handling car, but im not bothered about that. I loved my previous beemer vert, you all must be ugly

Myne in Imola red with Kiwi leather, CSL wheels and H&R springs, not the fastest thing in the world but they go well for what they are and i love the rasp. Going to chop it in for a sapphire black CSL, and if im honest i wish id got SMG over manual.

I wasnt sure bout the red one on the other page but i think thats cuz it had mud flaps on the rear. this looks the bollox! Yeh im desperate for smg just for the fun factor. but i wont have the sort of cash lying around needed to repair if it goes wrong. and i have THE worst luck with cars.

as i said, he had it for nearly five years, had a previous drug driving (silly boy) conviction from when he was younger, and got pullled one night in your saff when he was just, and i mean just, over the limit, so they threw the book at him, with his previous drug driving ban, then the drink driving one, they banned him for three years. the car was at in his garden, as in the pic above, he refused to sell it as he loved it to bits, so he would start it everyday and leave it running, and as i said, once or twice a month, i would go round and id take it for a decent drive with him in the passanger seat.
the only reason he sold it, he was getting married, and the bill was getting big, the saff was sat, he didnt have his licence back, so he sold it to put the money towards his wedding, which i was an usher at.
the car sold within 24 hours, i advertised it for him on pistonheads on the friday, it sold on the saturday.
i know the previous owner to you, luke was his name iirc, spent a few quid on it as it developed a few problems.
but as i said mate, i genuinely miss that car, i did a good few miles in it, and it was always a pleasure to drive.

ive got a good few pics of it mate. story goes, my mate had a crystal blue saff, lost it one night, went into a big kerb side on, folded the wheels under the car, proper, proper, bent the shell. thats where your car comes in. he bought it off a lad local to us, who took the engine and box out of it for another project, so had your shell sat, needing just an engine and box. the engine and box out of my mates crystal blue one were sound after he pranged it, so he bought your shell, for £4k and put his engine and box in it, hence, why in your receipts, you will have two different registrations, the power engineering receipt you have for the engine build, but the engine as in the crystal blue one when it was built.

Yup seen that car before, its nice bar the mudflaps (imo). Manual box is fine, but a little notchy in 1st/2nd and 3rd, first thing i would do is get the gearbox oil changed, meant to be lifetime filled but makes a huge difference having it changed for fresh stuff and also get the friction modifier paste put in the rear diff along with some fresh oil.

Wow cheers for that pal. other than the fully stamped service book and all previous mot's i dont have tons of reciepts so didnt know that (wonder where they went as id love a proof of engine rebuild). just knew the engine had been rebuilt at somepoint as i did headgasket as a precaution when i bought it and could see the fresh honing marks still. Im getting some paint done at work as its abit stonechipped now (just bonnet, mirror cups etc) so tell your mate shes mint and being looked after and driven hard
here is a few pics of the receipts i took when i advertised it
a pic of my daughter driving it
and here is a folder of a few pics i took of it, not long before he sold it
