stds are good for 500bhp mate try and get a set of rs500 ones as they use a slightly harder compound rubber - imo vibratechnic / collins etc make way too much vibrations through the car for my likeings!

yeah there a slightly different compound apparently and to is the liquid in them, ford list 2 part numbers, one for the 2wd and another for the rs500..... i noticed when i changed mine to them they felt more solid but i think the mounts in mine were long dead any way lol

thanks for the replys ,i take it the uprated mounts are more important in the 4wd to stop driveshafts popping out .

rob

can you remember how much you paid for the 500 ones mate?

I have vibratech on my 2wd and was a big improvement. I can't say I noticed any downsides at all. Only the price

It's feels much better i'n general driving feels as if it's taken the slack out from letting the clutch out . Even when it's ticking over and a slight blip on the throttle the engine used to rock a little where now their is none. And I can't say their was more road noise either really.

i bought them from ford years ago iirc... something like £68 each i think!! everyone i knew at the time were telling me to keep with standard ones..

one thing i couldnt live with was i bought a vibra technics g/box mount, first i had to re-shape it to fit then second i sounded like my gearbox was fuked, it was horrid! ended up buying a 'group a' one from graham goode
