2.0 black top exaust in an xr2
I asked a couple of days back bout a zetec convertion and ive gone for it ive got a set of twin 40's not ideal but a steal for £180 and iv bought an engine £175 ive got all the other parts lined up waiting for pay day but a manifold.
What manifold will fit in my Mk2 fiesta?
I can get a st170 one for £50 and im thinking its gona give better power but will it fit.
Ive been told to fit an 1800 sump so id need one that fits round that.
alternatively does any one no a place that can make a manifold near lakeside in essex.
Thanks phil

I dunno that you can use a 1800 silvertop sump on the blacktop!! A mate was a running a blacktop in a mk2 ghia and he has major sump problems, ripped it off twice i think!!

You better off sorting out the sump and flywheel first and then getting an exhaust manifold that will fit around what ever you've bought. When I've been building my car the ST170 is a nightmare, its designed as 2 seperate systems that eventually join. And it doesn't flow a great deal more than the standard 2.0 setup. If your that worried get hold of a good aftermarket zetec system.
My exhaust uses a standard 2.0 manifold that moves into an RS Turbo mongoose cat-back.

Pretty sure you can fit a silver top 1800 sump to a black top as we fitted one to an ST170 engine we've just dropped into a Mk6 Escort. ST170 Exh manifold is a no go as the shape prohibits its use. We ordered a stainless unit for a Focus off Flea-Bay that my brother then modified
