Default Quick eBay Query

I recently sold a phone on eBay as a BIN with best offer, received an offer and accepted, they received the phone this morning but then recieve this message :

The phone is not unlocked as stated in your description, can i return for a refund.

I looked at my item description and under item specifics under simlock it says T-Mobile, also in the description that i wrote i said locked to T-Mobile, but after selecting the phone for eBay to fill the details right at the top it says unlocked !!

I said i wouldn't have a problem with issuing a refund, but now they are asking for me to pay for return postage, i refused as it is not in eBay rules (as far as i am aware)

Would you pay for return postage ?

worst case; just refund Ł10 and to get it unlocked - think that's what most places charge

it is up to the buyer to cover return postage fees which is part of ebays and paypals rules,ebay can be shitty and blame you for not preparing your advert correct and will always back the buyer over the seller even if its their own pre filled info

I offered a partial refund but they said it costs Ł20 up there way to get unlocked, the phone only sold for Ł58 so fook am i giving them Ł20

Thing is when i was listing i just selected my phone for eBay to auto fill the details, i wasn't aware they were going to put unlocked

But my description clearly stated locked to T-Mobile

Told them to return it and i'll refund, but they are asking for return postage saying why should they be out of pocket, they have also opened a dispute which is fine as i'm willing to refund the amount they paid minus their return postage

just do that then;

chances are they want the phone and they are just trying it on - relist it and stop them from bidding again

thing is in the dispute rules it states its up to buyer to return item and the seller should only refund full original purchase price on receipt of checked over item by you,NOT cover return costs

P.S when it gets returned check the box before signing for it aswell as some cunts send a empty packet back so they can show ebay they sent it back and they get full refund and keep the phone

Very true, mate of mine just sold some mint cos lattice wheels on ebay and the guy claimed they werent mint and wanted a refund.My mate said fuck you but ebay demanded he pay them back which he agreed to reluctantly but now the wheels have come back,they dont look the same as the ones he sold,also he reckons the tyres look a lot more worn as well so he`s going to try and only pay back a partial amount.
