Default s2 overboost????

can anyone help?
i have bought a s2 erst and it seems to be overboosting as when i drive it and push it hard it seems to be all noise and no action.
the car pulls really well in first and second but when under load in third / fourth /fifth its poor.
is there any quick thing i can do to see if it is over boosting and should i disconnect the amal valve to protect the engine?
car is going to be set up by nms on the 18th sept but would like to try and diagnose the problem before taking it there.
thanks in avance

I wouldn't say it's overboosting mate. I would just explain to nms how it drives and I'm sure they'll sort it when it's setup I wouldn't abuse it until it's setup just incase something is amiss

Overboost is when you're running too much boost and the ECU cuts the engine to protect it. Usual symptoms is that the car will be fine in first and second as the ECU can't react quick enough, then in third it'll boost and start to accelerate then a few seconds later the engine will die and won't do anything until you lift off the throttle and re-apply.
