Default focus st170 exhaust noise!

hi all,

i have a 2003 focus st170 and have descovered a very anoying sound when the car reaches around 2500 rpm. the only sound i can describe it as is a 'scratching' noise rather than the usual rattle i have read about.
I have recently had a new CAT fitted and recently i had a look and it seemed to be coming from the flexible pipe just after the CAT. just wondered if anyone else has had any similar problems?

cheers

If it was blowing then I would assume it'd be doing it more audibly at higher revs but I'd check to make sure it isn't leaking from there.

cat heat shield for def!

if you blip the throttle, at about 1800-1900 rpm it rattles then as the rpm drops again the rattle goes away-cat heat shield.

yes i had to get one of the brakets welded when i had a new CAT fitted.
as i have had a new CAT fitted the joint between the cat and the flexible joint shouldnt be too hard to split, but the joint at the other end of the flexible pipe looks very corroded
