which rst engine
Hi all new to the forum and looking for some advice on a engine for my kitcar.
Looking for a 200-220 bhp engine to mate to a ford type 9 g/box, so whats the best engine to get and the easiest way to get the 200+bhp.
Fiesta
escort s1
escort s2
As far as I can tell the fiesta has less power and only looking at chipped ecu's doesn't have the same bhp gains as the escort
Any info will be of great help
Cheers

S1/S2 Engine
Chipped ECU
2wd Cossie T3
2wd Cossie Turbo exhaust flange or equivilent.
Your biggest problem is fueling system as they're K-Jet unless you use the EFI from the Fiesta.
You don't need anything mega for that horse power apart from the cossie Turbo and adequate cooling/fueling.
I assume its going RWD and you're fabbing stuff yourself

the main issue you are going to have is space, if you go for a turbo charged engine you have to allow for the turbo intercooler and cross over pipe, assuming its a caterham style kit car they dont have that much frontal area so you may have more luck fitting a 2 litre zetec on throttle bodies. also the power delivery in these is far more linear so less likely to end up backwards in a hedge
