the main issue you are going to have is space, if you go for a turbo charged engine you have to allow for the turbo intercooler and cross over pipe, assuming its a caterham style kit car they dont have that much frontal area so you may have more luck fitting a 2 litre zetec on throttle bodies. also the power delivery in these is far more linear so less likely to end up backwards in a hedge
