sounds like window regulator is fucked mate.very common.best way to check it is unplug the two pin plug that goes onto the motor.put a meter on the 2 pins and operate the switch.should get battery voltage and operate other way and should read -12 volts.that will indicate all is well to motor

As above, very common. Take door card off, remove the regulator motor from the frame that holds the window in place, unscrewing 3-4 torque screws (cheaper just to get 2nd hand motor from scrappy than the whole kit). Make sure you find out if it a 2 pin plug when going to scrap yard, any 3door focus will do

I've fixed 2 of these just by taking the motor apart, cleaning the insides and putting back together. Both have since been ok for at least a year since!

I had this, is it the drivers door? Try putting both hands round the glass and push downwards as someone operates the switch, get it to open, then lubricate the runners.

Whats happening is the glass is sticking and the auto down spring/microswitch has got a bit weak, the auto down function bit thinks its at the bottom of the runers as it isn't moving, so it shuts the motor off even before its moved!

If you get stuck with any mondeo or focus parts there is a place called focus/mondeopart that are very reasonable for spares, they do repairs but break shed loads as well, 01603 866999.
