Default Sky Tv Link Question

Wondering if anyone can help.

Basically i want to know if possible and if so which splitter i need for my mums house

Currently she has a Sky hd box in her main room which then runs to the front room from RF2 which has a tv link so she can change the channels in there.

There is then RF one which does into a splitter and goes to the 2 bedrooms.

Basically what i want to do/know if i can is:-

Can i get a new splitter and take the RF2 from the sky box and split it into the 3 cables which runs to the different rooms and connect a TV link mouse thing?

The splitter she has is like 10 years plus old and i have tried it with that one but it doesnt work. When you try a tv link on the cable thats been through the splitter it doesnt seem to get power and light up.

Any help would be great

Thanks

Triax or Antiference are nice at a sensible price.

Get a 1:4 'Sky Compatible' amp e.g. Antiference A240D - http://cpc.farnell.com/antiference/a...ith/dp/AP01142

Best link eyes are the Triax ones in my experience - work with any amp, look good, well built, compact, power indicator.

This one looks good

The eye bit looks tiny so you would hardly notice it. Compared to the tv link ones which are quite big

Yes those are the ones to use - nice bits of kit, very discrete.

Anyone know what the difference is?

Most people list this one:-

but then i found this one which the eye seems to be even smaller.

I got the tv booster/splitter and got it all connected up

When i have it on either VHF or UNF i cant remember which way round, basically one of them the picture is perfect but the tv link doesnt work as there is no power to it but if you switch it to the other the tv link works but there is like a ghost image rectangle vertically that moves across the tv screen.

Anyone any idea what would cause this?

Thanks

You're probably on a UHF channel that clashes with one coming down the aerial.

On your sky box do 'Services' then 4, 0, 1, 'Select' quickly, go to RF outlets and you'll see the channel no. A safe bet is usually channel 69 as it's reserved for radio mics.

Channels in use in N.Ire are:

Fermanagh 22,25,28,32
Belfast 21,27,31,34,37,39,42,45,49
Londonderry 31,55,59,62,65

After setting, select save and re-tune the sky channel on your TV to the one you've set.

Hello Chris

I changed it from channel 68 to 69 but it was the exact same, i then unplugged the ariel cable into the sky box and everything was fine, but for some reason my mum likesto watch the normal channels on the tv as well as sky ffs

would changing to a different rf channel help or could you suggest anything else?

Thanks
