2.0mondeo in to mk3 escort will it fit?
as above i have a mk3 escort 1.6i i need more power has been suggested to me to go for a mondeo 2.0
want to no if it will fit with mondeo gear box as would be able to purchase a complete car rear ended
is it a case of a straight change over

its not that straight forward, yes the engine will fit, but not without 1800 flywheel and sump, escort water pump and you will have to use your original box to keep costs down as using the mondeo one is expensive, have you thought about engine management also? the k jet wont work on the mondeo engine.

it will fit but you making life harder with the mondy box,
fitting the engines a case of removing the mondy flywheel and clutch , use a series two fly n clutch , enlarge the flywheel bolt holes from 10.5 mm to 11 mm iirc , your cvh ( or ideally a s2 lsd box ) will both bolt striaght on , then u retian ur cvh shafts , starter ect ,
then its just modify your cvh engine mount to bolt to the mondy block at the rear , two of the holes line up , its simply cut the last lug off line up with hole and re -weld ,
then its just routing exhaust wich if your staying no turbo shoulnt be difficult , and the wiring ,
really is a simple mechanical conversion fella , the wiring and fuelling are the trickest parts
