Does anybody play bass guitar?
I'm supposed to be practicing with a group tomorrow (under much protest "leave me alone, I'm not a bass guitarist "), and frankly, I have no clue what the hell I'm doing.
Anyone?
Help?
lol!

Thanks to Pete (Warleydaddy) for just giving me a 180-second crash course in bass guitar over the phone
Might just have saved my bacon son

I'll keep that in mind, how much? If I'm going to keep it up, I'm not playing this Squier thing that I'm going to be 'issued' with. (due to complete refusal to go and buy one)

Well mate, Squires are ok, what don't you like about it. This Ibanez I bought for £500, but I've had it for two years (still in excellent condition) and would be willing to let it go alot cheaper. If you are interested, I could sell you the whole lot (bass , amp, pedal, and leads etc). Depends how much You want to spend.
This is the bass

Its called an EDA 900.
PM me if you want some pics or whatever

It's only because I'm a guitar snob
I once bought a Vintage copy Strat, and I was convinced for about a year that I was total rubbish until I picked up a proper guitar (then realised I was only half rubbish lol)... it's just put me off cheap guitars entirely.
You have PM anyhow

If I keep up with bass (might have found a niche I didn't know existed on a second guitar) I'll give you a shout man, thanks for the pics!
For anyone who's interested, I'm buzzing Had a good time, didn't make an arse of myself, and apparantly, they like me.

well done m8 !!
tis very hard being a musician , trying out for a new band, material youve never played, guys youve never met , nerves are really in effect, and to find a band that a, they like you and your playing , and more importantly b, an band that you like yourself, ive tried out for a few bands last year , and they were either really bad student bands ( what is it with 99% of students that think they can be really good in a band - fookin shite) or just material i didnt like !!
still lookin tho !!!
gave up with one band simple because we were too good !! - too many gigs - four nights a week some weeks , - after a 45 hour week , i dont have enough energy to be rockin four night a week in a loud fast rock band two is good , may be the extra night some weeks
there is no buzz like it tho - i do miss it alot !!

Nerves? jesus man...
Couldn't play jack crap decently for about an hour, was an absolute wreck! Never met these guys before, all very good at what they do, trying to make me feel at ease (which just made it worse )
Think/hope I've fallen on my feet here

hope so m8 !!
i only get nerves when auditoning for new bands, and playin drums gets a little daunting , just keep it very basic , no showing off , no big heads , no solo's , until gig nights !!
never get stage fright , i must of done only about 50 or so gigs , but only the 1st few were ever scary !! after that , just comes naturally !!
