Default Just remembered why i hate ebay

There are some serious wankers on there

I listed my mk1 escort rally car on there and placed a reseve of 3k and starting price of 2k as i feel this is better than starting at 99p and no reserve then pissing people about and pulling the auction

anyway ,

bidder 1 started at 2k , great news ( coullparrots )

bidder 2 bid upto 2.5k

Bidder 3 bid 3k , great news RESERVE MET

Im happy and think the car is sold

anyway

bidder 1 bid again £3250 im well happy

2 days latter bidder 1 retracts his bids and says he bid wrong amount

How the hell can he bid the wrong amount when he could see the reserve was met at 3k and he bid more than 3k

Now i have noticed bidder 3 has retracted his bid and messaged me saying he has removed his bids because the other fella has and he thinks its because im getting somone to run the auction up

I do understand what he thinks but how can i convince him im not running it up

anyway , does anyone know the user ,,,,coullparrots,,,,

He is the wanker who has pissed me off

Fooking ebay wankers

why would that have made any differance as he bid AFTER the 3k reserve

and rippoff ebay want £8 for a buy it now listing and it is an AUCTION site after all

so your saying its my fault because i didnt put a buy it now ?? why should i , i may have got more than the reserve

so in your opinion everyone should just put a buy it now to stop wankers spoiling your auction ,lol

Just add a message at bottom of listing stating...

PLEASE DO NOT BID FROM OVERSEAS! Or YOUR BIDS WILL BE CANCELLED.

That way people who are watching or potentially going to bid will think the bids been removed and all is okie kokie!

This is Ebay afterall you HAVE to take the rough with the smooth.

I dislike it, but everything I put on seems to sell for top dollar.

I put aftershave on the other night, unwanted present. Brand new prada aftershave. Once posted, and buyer received they left me neg feedback saying it's not aftershave but 'pour homme' which forgive me if I'm wrong is French for 'for him' so now I've got 1 neg after 6 years of 100% feedback. Mad as fook!!!

Emailled eBay and they won't remove it.

There's a lot of messers. Some are genuine though

I think the day sellers were stopped from leaving negative feedback was the day ebay seriously went down the pan.

I think the only reason its survived is theres no alternative thats got the same kind of popularity

The guy doesnt know what he is talking about mate, he has been unjust sadly as pour homme is indeed just meaning "For men".
For reference though there are 3 main classifications of scent:

Eau De Parfum is the purest & strongest kind, this is the stuff where you'll just splash on a couple of drops.

Eau De Toilette is the watered down (less strong) version of the scent, usually this is what you'll spray on and tends to be what I personally use.

Eau De Cologne is by far the weakest stuff, with the most alcohol in it and is usually reffered to as aftershave. This is teh one that stings like hell. lol

ebay does my head in, i've bought and sold 7 cars on ebay and to be fair haven't had a single bad experence. but other stuff i've sold has been a few probs, people expecting brand new top quality stuff for charity shop prices.

the only pisser i had was a mondeo i bought and the clutch went 2k miles later, but a 60k mile mondeo with a tow bar i guess i should of expected it, and the car was still a bargin really!

Stu, do you find the buy it nows work well? I put a few bits on a while ago on BIN'S, and nothing sold, apart from 1 item that sold, but then didn't get paid for.... I havn't used eBay for ages as they take the piss and offer the seller zero protection, especially fucking payscam, sorry paypal!

it is fuckin ridiculous.
i put a cheap cat c golf convertible on there last week with no reserve.had a guy come and view it but didnt want to give me the 695 i had it up for in the screen as he was hoping to get it cheaper via auction. he was the highest bidder at 600 with a minute to go,he got out bid at 620.
the winning bidder emailed me and said he wanted to collect it over the weekend-happy days.......only he never turned up,wouldnt answer his email or phone-turns out he bid on 6 cars that evening and didnt buy any!i sent a second chance offer to the other guy but he had bought another car.
it seems to be full of idiots at the mo

that coulparrots name rings a bell,im sure he used to sell mk1/2 escort bits or cars on ebay a while back.

I had a timewaster who bought a set of injector pipes for £5 on BIN. He never payed for it and I have since sold them on through this site, but I do have the timwasters postal address. The buyer had over 300 positive feedback, so I had no reason to doubt him. He never responded to any emails. maybe some dogshit in a poke for just desserts

Not used Drainbay for 3 or 4 years now, be it buying or selling,
Sellers can be hit n miss with their listings and its easy to get stung, but then again its too easy for the mongs to screw a seller.

This is Ebay afterall you HAVE to take the rough with the smooth.
I believe there is a option to stop people oversees bidding.

You can add at the bottom that oversees buyers can contact you which tends to iron out the idiots.

I work for a company that run a ebay shop and we do alright, so far only had the odd awkward customer but you have to expect that when you sell as much on there as we do.

As for the company itself I don't see it as being too bad, there are many things that need changing and the change in sellers rights does have its bad points, that said EVERY problem we have had with customers that ended in us getting bad feedback was removed as we could prove we had done everything we could or it proved that they were trying to pull a fast one.

My brother worked for Ebay then moved over to run a section of Paypal Europe, he got me into using them, both services I think are very useful and although you may not agree Paul there are many successful companies that make a living from using both and you just need to know how to use it properly and not get so stressed everytime someone dicks you about as that happens wether you use ebay/paypal or sell things over the phoen or through a shop.

i put my bmw diesel on ebay a while back ..long story but in a nut shell

first bidder met reserve
2nd bidder 200 quid higher
2nd bidder e mails me 24 hrs berore auction ends saying can i retract his bid ...as his current car is not selling on e bay and he wont be able too pay for mine
i retract his bid ,and first bidder wins
on contacting winning bidder he says because he was out bid few days back he has bought another carfair enough really cant blame him!
i get my fees back and relist car
nothing but e mails asking why the bidder pulled out ,and whats wrong with the car
hence no more bids and add completely fooked up ...
cost me and add and people think i am selling a dodgy car
for the record the car was a bmw touring 320d fsh ,full mot taxed low mileage, stunning car

i think too many people bid with a glass of wine in hand or can of beer
certainly does seem to attract the numptys ,and they rob you with the fees for the privelage

I'm having similar problems. Put my Escort Cossie bonnet on, I always say must collect from me in Lincoln when it's big things like this, and two zero rated bidders bid on it, then it ends and I find the winning bidder lives in Devon! No contact whatsoever since, so I've had to relist it. It all costs money though, not that they care!

There's not enough protection against this, if someone wins and doesn't pay up E-BAY should send a bolt of lightening down to the users PC and fry them. Harsh but fair I think.

Not when they've put a frigging great bid in so that no-one else has a chance to win, and if you bid it's supposed to be a contract if you win.
If you're not 100% you want something, why bid on it in the first place? I just don't understand it. Especially as I'm landed with paying all the fees for something I haven't even sold.

I use e-bay several times a week & never had a problem. I buy/sell old football cards. Its all old buggers like me so no chavs or idiots.
Cant believe you guys try to sell to the chav brigade which is what the motoring section of ebay is filled with.

Some dick ruined my 4 year 100% feedback rating last week saying he has not received an item and without asking me as it was all recorded. Hows that fair as I have worked bloody hard for the feedback!
