Got my fiesta cossie shell back from AG and it's 90% bare metal with light surface rust so looking at maybe getting it shot blasted and etch primered but after rough estimates and who is recommended in the south east Essex area?

Theres a shot blasting place in Maldon, if you do a search for Maldon shotblasting, think they're also known as CTC.

They may be interested in helping you, if you phone them ask to speak to Graham or Trevor. Think their number is 01621 841100.

hello mate. The guy at CTC are very good, use to service there compressor. They can even do blasting at your own home.

I wouldnt use Vulcan, had loads of stuff done through work and the quality was very poor.

 

Ctc in maldon want Ł845 all in just to blast and etch prime it so I think il do it Myself with wire wheel and rattle cans

 

just go for the rat look.....

Not sure if its still there or not but had my beetle and parts blasted by firm behind macro in rayleigh.

If the weather is nice over the weekend i'm going to try and put some more mileage on the S1 as need to run in the new engine.. so i'll take a drive down there.

Glad to hear you've got the shell back. Will have to pop round and have a look.

BTW.. Mark has sold the Fez goes in the next couple of days to a guy in Ireland its going to use it for racing.

I've used a bloke a few times local to me to blast a shell and give it a coat of etch. He'll do everywhere apart from actual panels so as not to distort them. Cost has never been more than a couple of hundred quid. Comes out to you or you go to him. Be aware that it's not always easy to get out all the sand from box sections before coating in etch so you may need to tidy up a little afterwards. Also it won't remove the original rubberised underseal, you'll need to remove that by hand first.
