Ideas for a day out with the other half???
Basically she keeps goin on that we don't do anything together and wants to go out for the day somewhere.
So to keep her happy Is there anything we can do that she will enjoy that won't bore me silly?
I live in south London and don't mind drivin a fair way, anything up to 2hrs really, so anywhere in south England-midlands really.
Don't have loads of money, so shopping, extravagant stuffs not really an option.
She mentioned a zoo or Madame tussauds (sp) but they don't interest me lol, it's not like were taking a kid on a day trip(or am I? Lol)
Any1 got any good ideas?

If she's mentioned those places then thats more than half the battle... its when you have to go in blind and guess somewhere which she'd enjoy that things can go wrong real quickly IMO.
Out of those I'd rather the Zoo. Went to Whipsnade (sp?) with the school when I lived down Bedford way in my younger days and it seemed pretty good.. Woburn Safari Park was on Top Gear a good while ago and looked reasonable to.
Basically, if she's given you specific options that she would be happy with, I'd choose from that list and try to enjoy it. I'm sure you'd have a decent enough time at the Zoo though, everyone likes the Zoo!!
Cheers,
Grant

Im not far from you mate and took the missus for a drive down to Longleat zoo!! Was quite a drive, but was a mint day out, apart from the 3i overheating in the lion compound
Was like Ł50 to get in (if booked in advance) and we was there all day, plenty to do

Will deffo b after the schools go back it's gunna b bad enough going anyway let alone with a load of screaming kids.
She them as I asked what she meant lol, she wants me to pick.
If there's loads of fitties at the safari I'll go there. Lol, will give me something to do, lol
Or maybe chessington, then she gets the zoo and there's rides as well.

Take her to London Zoo. Go to Covent Garden and have a wander around. There's a real nice pub there called "The Cole Hole" that serves lovely food at very reasonable prices. Go to the back of the pub and you can sit upstairs.
There's always entertainers in Covent Gardent to watch or have your palm read by the Chinese man there. You don't have to believe what he says, but it was a good laugh.
There's so much to see in London and no real need to go on the tube as it is all within walking distance.

Colchester Zoo all day long, 1000 times better than London Zoo after the refurb a couple of years back and loads cheaper.
If not Thorpe Park or something? The Sun is doing free tickets at the mo

I prefer the idea of not going to London as it wouldn't actually feel like were going somewhere different.
She works in London so a drive into the countryside won't feel so much like going to work.
And I don't like public transport or all the foreigners in London lol.
The idea of a safari, drivin through the lions den sounds much more appealing than a zoo, walking past cages.
Or are zoos more fun than I remember them being? Lol
I think I'm going to Thorpe park with her and her mate, but that doesn't count as it's not just the 2 of us

Romantic weekend away in a decent country hotel?
Doesnt have to be expensive, check out laterooms.com etc
Ive managed to bag one for 80 quid for the night the day before pembrey, so now its not that me and my mrs are going to a trackday for me, its that we're going for a romantic break for her and it just happens to be near a track so it seems a waste not to go there
