Welcome to the site

Not being funny but why not just take all the cds to your car and try them?

Ive got a Kenwood cd/radio in my car and i use normal Philips CD-RW, and they work perfectly every time, i dont think i EVER had a music disc that that wont play in it. I know you have a Ford unit but just saying

At the age of your player I would have thought all would work, often they say on the set somewhere what types they play, but as said just try.
When I had me old Kenwood 10 disc it would not play some CD'r, some it would, was never designed to play the CD'r, bought it in 1992!!, so had no option but to upgrade disc changer to later one the only model kenwood do(did) that works on old and new head unit format, has new old switch, my head unit is old format(1991), but perfect now.
