fuck me what a mission!

i too fancey a sport but thats scary, i've heard egr valves are a mission but anything else seems a right pig.

and from whats said above seems lr still haven't sussed air suspension!

think i'll stick with my classic for a bit longer, can do almost everything with a 13mm spanner and mole grips!

Never seen a TDV8 fail...

TDV6 turbos can be replaced without taking body off, just lots of patients needed and a home made spanner...guys at work do them in 3 hours.

EGR valves on a tdv6 are also lots of fun, cuts hands and swearing

an old friend of my mrs had a sport, it dropped a valve a few thousand miles after buying it (brand new), he is still in dispute over the engine change being under warranty.

His bill came to about Ł15k, including new engine & swap. Apparently Range Rover have special lifts to lift the body off the chasis, like a 4 poster and 2 post lift combined...

crazy having to lift the body for maintanence! the photo of a body being held over a chassis was funny!

Well got a complete second hand engine with a supposed 20 odd k on it just had to swap a few wires over and gearbox which didnt take to long then it was time to get the body back off the chassis (we put it back on so we could use the ramp during the day) then we put the engine in and body back on took about 4-5 hours to do this then left it for the night.
got back into it the next night and got it running left it running whilst putting head lights and other bits and bobs on whilst doing this my brother notiiced it was starting to smoke slightly so gave it a little rev and it made a bit of a noise then lots off smoke done a little looking around and found the turbo on the right hand side is f**ked.
just left it after this good job we have got a spare turbo and we think we can get it off without taking the body back off.

Job for next week!!!

Not sure how much it would cost to be fair, me and my brother are just helping the lad who owns the car and not charging anything.
