Fuel connector fitting for Bosch Injectors??
Where can I get a pipe with a fitting to connect onto the fuel rail end of a Bosch type injector (standard FRST blue). I want to use it on my S2 as a 5th inj so need to supply fuel via a pipe rather than a rail.
Any ideas anyone?
Cheers,
Stu

Hi Stu, the mount you can see in this pic, is available from power engineering
I can’t remember exactly how much I paid for it but I think it was about £30
Or you could make your own, made this out of what I found lying around in my garage
Cheers

Hi steve, thats the stuff I need, like you I was thinking on making my own mounting but Id rather buy a proper supply pipe fitting like on your top pic - I dont trust myself to make something to hold fuel at 7 bar in a hot engine bay!! .
Looked on the power eng site but no sign of the mount and have spent much of today trawling the net for the bosch fuel inlet connectors but have come put with nothing - surely SOMEWHERE must do them?? how are people meant to rig up MF2s without these bits??
Anyone got any other ideas where I could get one of these?

you can get injectors with fittings that accept a normal rubber hose clipped straight on (like i had on my old TwinTurbos) i'm sure you can get one with a suitable flow rate and it wouldnt cost any extra...

Hi Stu, you will have to phone Power in order to get hold of the mount as I have spent some time looking for a mount my self with no successes
His closer look at the mount with the injector in place.

Thanks for the great pic Steve, I will have to give them a call then as Im drawing a total blank otherwise.
One other question for you. In the S2 workshop manual it lists the ERST primary fuel pressure as being 6 bar. Is it OK to use these bosch injectors with this high a pressure? - I know cossies share the same fuel pump as the S2 but Ive always read that MFI runs at a higher pressure than normal EFI systems.
Thanks again for your help. By the way for my initial injector driver I have 2 ideas :-
1). Simple 555 astable with variable duty cycle which will provide a fixed amount of extra fuel at all revs.
2). A monostable 555 (with adjustment for "on" time) triggered by dizzy signal so fuel supplied increases with RPM.
Both of these will be activated by a boost pressure switch and will drive though a TIP31C power transistor. Very simple circuits but I want to start simple as it at should at least mean they are reliable!
What do u think?? Im erring towards (1) for starters as I think it will be a more "predictable" thing to play with.
Cheers,
Stu

that injector is off an XR4x4 TwinTurbo (used for 7/8 inj.) its similar flowrate to a FRST injector if i recall correctly. you can still buy them brand new for about 40quid. i got a quote off ima once. just ring a bosh dealer n ask for an injector with that fixing that flows xxx and thats easily available

Hi stu, yes the fizzy injector will be ok at 6 Bar, I have one on my own car and it’s been fine for the last 4 years, at 6 bar the fizzy injector will flow about 300ml/min
