Default Want Front door windows tinting

I've got a Range rover (posting on here as you guys are more into your tints) and need the front door windows tinting, as all the others have been done, my questions are:

What the maximum 'tint' i can get for front windows?

How much will it cost, and can anyone recommend a decent tinter in Hertfordshire?

Cheers in advance

If you're staying legal, no tint can be applied to the front door windows, 75% of light has to show through, and most car windows are lightly tinted from factory anyway, so any tint would tip it over the limit. My old car had slight tints on the front windows, I had no problems in 2 years (Although I bought the car like that, and wasnt 100% on the rules back then) but the person who bought it from me was stopped in the first two weeks and made to peel them out by the side of the road.

Hope this helps.

30% tint is the legal limit mate, although the guys that did my fronts said that they've never heard of a 50% tint being pulled?

Correct. Had front windows tinted on a mk1 focus. Got pulled by VOSA and had a prohibition order slapped on the car! Had to take it back in to be retested and the standard glass was within 0.5% of the legal limit!

Really not worth the hassle, seems that they are clamping down on it a lot more lately too!

Are you 70 years old with a heart condition and a twitchy right foot? If so, I'd worry about having the windows repaired before they are tinted

It depends where you're driving, I think. I used to live in Bishop's Stortford and people got pulled left-right-and-centre for it. Up here in Solihull/Brum you see lots of ....people... driving about in mercs/range rovers completely blacked out all the time.

I suppose it relates to the policing actually having something to do up here....
