Thanks for all your kind words guys!
Yeah the pin was in on the engine bay system, as said i get worried about somebody pullin the handle buy mistake!!
Found the real cause, I run a 4x4 rail, the head of the front mounting bolt has sheered off, letting the rail move out under pressure, causing the O ring to blow out!!
I steam cleaned the engine bay down today, there are lots of melted bits. Gonna get the motor out next, then go from there!!

The main thing is that you are ok.

I was in the same session and when I saw the flames I felt really sorry for you.

Also so smoke pouring from a mk3 fiesta just back from you as well.

electric kit is the way to go pal - switch it off when people around, arm it when in use.
im sure it looks a lot worse than it is.

Yes maybe in heinsight, I have just refitted a manual system, I had an electric one in early this year, Had a flat battery before a stage start, trying to get car goin and set it off! The scroots dont like them either.
As for the foam, better off peeing on it, only got this out cos they had powder!!

sad to see we drove through the smoke on the second & last lap of the session

as we came round the corner i thought all the smoke was from the red fiesta then spoted the sierra with the fire truck behind it

hope your both ok cars can be fixed and im sure once the fire extinguisher is brushed off it wont look so bad
