Default BMW 320td `

Just been to look at a 320td with only 55k on the clock car looked really nice everything as it should but been told tat these are common for turbo problems anyone have any info on them?
Any tell tail signs to look for?

they either wont boost, or turbo haze alot if they have turbo problems.
usually pretty tough from what ive been heard.

i belive its only the pre 2004 models that suffer this
i know a few people with these they are a good car and with 55 on clock if its been looked after turbo shouldnt be a prob

When I was looking at getting one there was something in the inlet (a flap I think) can come loose, and enter the engine = new engine. A fix is to do away with the flap altogether and fit some blanks in the holes it leaves.

Yes there was defo a inlet issue that wrote engines off.
