see no one is taking it seriously 
a MP5K PDW with a screw on silencer and 3 30 round magazines is perfect!
fits in glovebox
easy to load
easy to fire
compact enough to wield from within the vehicle and tight spaces/close quarters
good rate of fire
accurate for the barrel length.
folding stock for the odd longer shot (to take out the one who runs - no witnesses!)
come on guys, do it properly.

The fact they have been openly discussing doing your van over suggests to me you have little to worry about - probably little hard man knob heads who are just talking the talk.

or one of those plastic weed killer bottles,that you pump up to spray with.but filled with battery acid.not strong enougth to burn,just sting quite a bit lol. obviously you thought it was just water.
and the next day all there chav gear will have melted,lol.
or fill it with petrol, with a fag in your mouth,that should discourage them.

Powder or foam fire extinguisher would be good.
Not only can you spray them from a distance, leaving them covered and easily identified. But you can use the metal fire extinguisher to beat them with.

AFAIK the law states that you can legally use something of a similar nature to defend yourself as long as they make the first move...so if I were you I'd keep a nice shiny breaker bar at hand and a rusty old thing that you found or something...Twat em with the new one and pull on some gloves and place the old one in their hands nobody would be any the wiser but us lot
By similar nature they basically mean if they try to twat you with a CrookLock you can disarm them and beat them senseless...or that's what I was told and that was from an ex-copper so I believe it...unless he doesn't like me too much
