10 mil is a drop in the ocean, our dept is in the billions. It's just a mere gesture and is pretty small fry. We are giving money to people who are in a far worse situation than you and your wife who 'may' loose her job.

Can't we not have a discussion without it turning into an 'who can make the biggest insult' thread??
Personally I can see both sides. Sure, it's makes sense to take care of our own affairs first, but there's nothing wrong with showing compassion when there's a natural disaster.
How many would feel different if we were giving the money to flood victims in, say, Austria, or Luxembourg, or somewhere not quite so racially 'sensitive'?

I was in a restaurant in Brazil, saw a 8 year old street kid hanging about outside, gave him a couple of pieces of garlic bread, he went straight over the road and shared it with his mates. That shows more generosity and compassion than most of you spoilt tossers on here with your 'i'm alright Jack, fuck the rest' attitudes.
Truly sad, it seriously is.
If your were living on the streets in a poverty rife town in Pakistan and the people saw you starving hungry with no home, they'd offer some assistance, be it some food, etc. It's basic human quality's to help others who need it, something I thought we all shared.

Chip, I think you are wasting your time with the undeducated sadly.
Because Britain is such a wealthy nation, we have money like this set aside for disasters like this. If it hadn't been used this time, it would be used on the next disaster, and not go towards funding anything remotely domestic.

Because I'm disagreeing with what chip has said I'm uneducated, the fact you spelt uneducated wrong is fairly funny in its self.
I agree that its likely Britain sets a certain amount of money aside for national disasters etc (a contingency fund) but i don't see why we would (or even if we actually do) set money aside for OTHER nations disasters.
Putting my own personal education to one side, im not actually sure you need to be highly educated to have a personal opinion, what ever you base it upon.

im a brainless thick uneducated twat who always has believed charity begins at home so fuck pakistan i say, and if we can afford 10 million to send abroad why cant we afford to refurbish all the schools the tories have put a stop to, all this arguments on cuts is crap and all, just the tories doing what they do best, yea we have got to tighten our belts but not shut the country down again like them twats will, but thats for another thread.
Bottom line is cameron says we are skint but one thing he ringfences is foreign aid, says it all really!!
Harsh i know but i dont take the world on my shoulders and their own country should sort them out, they can afford nukes so they aint exactly skint are they? and maybe its me but if one penny of that money fell into the wrong hands otr government should withdraw all help
