Well my missus is in labour 14 hours so far and I feel like a spare part !

My first 2 kids were premature and both delivered within an hour and no fuss but to now experience this long drawn out process of a full term baby really shows me what a raw deal women get and how badly designed the female body is for this situation..!

You can do a number of things, either stand around and get in the way, camera at the ready for babys first pic, or you can go and get some shut eye outside.

Junior was 2 weeks late and had a real struggle to let him let go and pop out whereas baby took 7 minutes to start squawking.

Best let the doctors decide what to do with you as you'll be going bonkers the longer it goes on.

Whatever else goes on in the world though, good luck to everyone and get some pics up

 

It hasnt helped that our local healthy authority has centralised its resources as we are in our 3rd hospital now !

indeed us women certianly do go through a tough time with child birth. as to what u can do. as long as ur there thats the main thing, have a little kip if u can get someone to make sure they wake u as soon as its close. after a long labour shes going to be knackered and is going to need ur full attention. But all exciting stuff. the hospitals round here are shite i was in bristol st micheals and the midwife got called out in the middle and i was left alone with my partner and she walked through the door as my daughter was born!

Just pity the women who has to deliver your child if it has your chin..OUCH

Our first was at Frome and it was really nice... then they closed it!!! We had the second at the RUH. They left us on our own for AGES and once baby was out, they wanted us out!

Waters breaking... No sign of contractions for 2 days....3 hospitals...2 days later induced and in labour for only around 18 hours.


Since my wife passed away, I have been with my new partner for nearly 18 months.

5 days without much sleep, hardly any food, just cups of tea and sat in the most uncomfortable chair made from pure granite..lol.
I feel like shit but the other half did all the work so fuck knows how she managed it !

Congrats - we hada 9 day wait last december as Thomas went over.

Then they found our he was breach, 4 hours laters Jens waters broke, and we were praying labour wouldnt start as she was due a c-section in the morning.

Then after they let me in, less than 45 minutes later Thomas was born at 10lb 1oz!

Congrats Simon -hope he makes you as happy as thomas has made me.
