Scooby doo?I drove mine for two years solid with no probs other than an alternator, albeit I did keep the engine standard import spec(bout 240horse).I know a lot of them look really chavvy with big wrc graphics and spoilers etc. But I still think a nice post 98 with the newer front end, clean with nice wheels is a pretty car, should be a fair bit cheaper than the evo as well.
Avoid the pulsars if you can,we were changing gearboxes on them when they were first imported in the mid 90's.nice quick cars and handled well but they're not the toughest of motors, umbrella in the rear quarter was a nice touch!!

cant afford a cossie, i'd stay away from anything 2l turbocharged to be fair, always loved the pulsars but they have a habit of blowing themselves into a millions pieces, evo3's are so dated now aswell and will only cause you problems.
If your set on a cossie why not a saph, the cost isnt that far off the price of a decent pulsar (which in my opinion there are'nt many) but buying any 90's turbo'd sportscar shouts 'overdraft' to me but it doesnt put many ppl off on here overall.

Evo, interiors may seem a little plasticy (if thats a word) but they are quicker and more reliable, or you could just save up for a bit longer to get yourself a 2wd saph cossie.

its a tough call mate, all the cars you mention can be right pigs,i do like the pulsars tho, little car,4x4 gets a move on as for scoobys a mate bought one last week after saying hed never own a jap motor, now all he goes on about is how rs just carnt live with it and he wished hed got one ages ago,as for reliability were just have to wait and see............

Ive had 2 pulsars and both were very solid cars . you could throw them round all day and still come back for more.
Clutches will go with standing starts but thats like any 4x4 car.
The insurance was cheaper on my saff 4x4 cos then the imported Gti-R.
The pulsars are fast when the boost is turned up.
In a stock engine all u need it a tweek of the boost to 1-1.2 bar and it will be around 280 ish BHP.
But when u start going for big BHP then u need to spend crazy money on internals. Bits are not cheap fopr the R as they are gettin rare now. As for the EVO i have never had one so i really can not comment on that.
Why not get a cos then ?
