Default Nurburgring cost??

I am looking at taking a trip to the nurburg next year in my evo 8 for around 4 days, was wondering off people who have been what it cost them to go? Hotels, fuel, food etc.

Cheers

£1000 minimum

That also depends on where you stay and how many laps you do as their nearly 25 euros a lap nowadays. My mates GTR was just managing 4 laps to a tank as well as was the Cossy so it can get very expensive.

Well worth it though !

I went there earlier this year, only spent around £300 personally for a four day week end trip.....but we were two up in one car. Stayed at hotel Zurburg just up the road from the tracks main entrance. Laps from what I remember were 33euro each.....but the rest of the trip was done to quite a budget as it was a kinda last minute thing for me. Either way, Im deffo going back next year to do it properly ie lots of laps and lots of living it up (not much Bitburger though...not keen on that stuff lol). Sabine's parents place just down the road from that hotel does cracking food btw.

You make a good point.

I go with the PF lot who have been going for a good few years, and know the track well. Nige & Si B, go in their Evo's and there are always a few other sports cars there. I've always been in a BMW 5 series which is an amazing motorway cruiser but not really a track car - but it does well on the Ring. I only do 4-5 laps in that as i'm happy with that - the rest of the time I'm a passenger in lots of cars which know the track well.

The passenger laps are really fun, and help you learn the track too. The thing is, it's not just about the track - it's the whole experience - this is nothing like a normal track day, good as they are. It sounds silly, but it's a really relaxing trip. The scenery on and around the track is incredible, as is the local hospitality. There is a constant stream of exotica, and even if you don't do one lap there still doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. There are lots of spectator points to watch and take photographs, and to lie in the sun. Evenings are spent with good company drinking good beer.

I love it, and next year I'll be taking a much quicker car. I've been the last 3 years, and plan to go many many more times.

We usually stay at the Ringhaus or Edgars if you know him.

Its nearly a thousand miles round trip from here so thats a fair bit of petrol, I did 35 laps on my first visit too so obviously we did get through a fair bit of fuel !

I just came back from my 1 st visit, wow it's magga , digs were 40 euros a night( about 38 pound) with breakfast . It's 22 euros a lap but the more you buy the cheaper it is we got 16 laps for 250 euros so 19 a lap,you can always sell your card if your car goes wrong . We went over in a Subaru and a 500 bhp sky line it cost us 750 pound in fuel, most of that in the skyline my Subaru did 32 to the gallon , as for fuel it fucking expensive over there so fill up in Dover , there were 3 people in each car so with ferry fuel and digs 2 nights and food and beer we only spent 350 ish each, we took food and cold drinks ie pack up for 2days just to keep the costs down. It's mint and 10 mins a lap is easy , have a good time and enjoy

heading out in 2 weeks time in the rs1600i, taking £1000 worth of euros, try to pay cash for everything, usually run out on the last day and stick last few things on the card, also only get about 4 laps to a tank, but then again, the cars never managed 4 laps without a breakdown since it was turbo'd .... pmsl

Few of us are off there the end of the month.

The costs can mount up thats for sure but i think if you are any kind of petrol head then you have to do it at least once in your life.

Ferry from Hull - Zeebruge return with car and cabin £180 each
Staying @ Eddy's place 90euro per night inc breakfast
Track insurance £175
Travel insurance £20ish
Euro recovery on top of uk cover £25 (or you could go for ADAC cover at 98euro)
Insurance green card from UK company £?
Then you have the fuel, god knows how much i will spend travelling from Aberdeen to the ring with as much laps as i can get then back £££

Yes it's going to be expensive but if i dont do it now i probably never will. If i really enjoy it then there is the danger that it then turns into a yearly thing causing financial ruin

went over a month ago in 400 BHP evo 8,

set off friday 6AM got back monday 11PM stayed 3 nights.
around 6 laps

total cost bassed on 2 per car for me was £453
Fuel
Ferry
RAC european
3 nights b&b
laps, food drink etc...

the lot,

It cost the lads who weren't sharring cars about £600

Evo did about 21MPG but we were never realy under 100 for majority of the journey! i found petrol 99% the same price as this country with the euro conversion?

Been 3 times and say around £700-£1000 depending on how many laps you do. That was splitting the 'road' petrol 50/50 with someone else, aswell as the hotel, and I did 22 laps last time I was there, heading down on the friday morning, returning tuesday night.

Try Villa Huegel for somewhere nice to stay, its literally 300 yards from the track entrance and its shit hot. I've also stayed in Hotel Zur Burg, almost as nice and as close to the track entrance. Both aren't cheap places but if you want to walk into nurburg for some beers of a night time, or walk to the track to watch its ideal!

Does that include me and the others who were drinking on your tab at the bar?

My hotel bill for 5 days on that same trip was 200 quid

Nice one Si. Shows it can be done cheaply!
That was 3 years ago though, so not so cheap now.

I thought he had done a more recent one TBH when I suggested looking at his costs.

As Chip mentions below - was 3 years back nearly - the Euro was weaker, and the Ring laps cheaper etc.

Plus your hotel was a tad cooler than ours

I've still got the receipts and a half written report from this year to finish off Chip - think it will be interesting to compare

I want a policy with a company on a modified car that is from someone who will give me a "yes" to the question "am I covered at the ring for 3rd party" so that I dont run into legal wrangles if I need to claim.
