Default question about a transit

im abit suspicious that our transit may have a problem of some sort, it feels very slow and underpowerd. its a 90 t280 2.4 5 speed.
now it may just be a van etc but its painfully slow and does about 18mpg

what sort of 0-60/top speed times should a van like this do, and what sort of mpg?

just for the record, the numbers mean it's got 90 brake and it's the 280 size so it's one of the smaller ones so it "should" be fairly quick off the mark

i've got a 85/280 and i've seen 108 mph on the gps

give it a good bootful as it may be just gummed up, but inevitably it will be down to something simple like the egr valve or something

don't think it will be a 2.4, if it is, it won't be a 280, the 2.4 was the rear drive engine and the 280 was only rear drive in the lpg/petrol model, the 2.4 rear drive models didn't start till the 300, and were on the 300/330/350 models, the 280 was just basiclly is just 2.0 or later 2.2 mondeo engine.
