hi i have a frs mk1 which is remapped and boosting at 1.4 bar is it safe to fit a boost controler so i can turn the boost down without doing any damage to the engine?

Theoretically yes, but my advice would be to have the tuner that mapped it check the car once you've fitted your controller. Also, depends on whether the 1.4 bar was made using a boost valve, or if you just have a hefty actuator, in which case, adjustment may be more tricky.
