i think hes going to play well with gerrard and torres to be qute honest..... i dont know why he didnt get played for us ( im a chelsea fan) when he was match fit???? he is such a good player when hes on form...... Same with Deco.... he didnt get a chance to settle into chelsea and everyone just said he was rubbish but he only played like 10 games for us, thats hardly enough time to get settled in and get to know the way the rest of the players play...... waste of talent @ chelsea in my eyes.....

He's been shite the last few seasons. only went to Liverpool as he's not good enough to get into the Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, and Man City 1st teams.

So, why did arsenal want to sign him ?, and if he's not good enough, why did chelsea take benayoun from us as his replacement, when benni wasnt good enough to get in our first team

 

Great signing, would like to think we have a very strong attack now with Gerrard, Torres, Kuyt and Cole, also Jocovic has signed ( not sure the spelling is right!), just need a good left back and a couple more big names.. A top four finish should be the aim this season, the passion to win will be installed by Hodgeson IMHO...

Maybe Arsenal wanted him as a 5 choice playmaker once all the better players are injured.

As for Benni not good enough to get in your team, christ, you'd probably take Benni Mcarthy upfront right now your squad is so weak.

weak, its a lot stronger since benitez left. torres, kuyt, who some may have forgotten is a striker, due to rafa playing him on the wing for two years, and im pretty confident roy will realise that and use him in the correct position. we just signed jovanovic, who over his last 125 games, has averaged pretty much a goal every other game, and we have been heavily linked with loic remy, another very good young striker. so with cole and jovanovic on board, that free's up kuyt to play as a striker, so no more david ngog getting 38 games a seasons.

i think what a lot are missing is, rafa was a clown, played bad formations, negative tactics, players out of position, and smashed a lot of players confidence. new manager, new start, for everyone. even players who never got a chance under benitez, or were out of the frame, may get a chance to prove there worth, and it wouldnt be the first time a player who looked awful under one manager, turns out to be pretty good under another, fingers crossed. we still have pretty much the same squad that finished 2nd the season before last, and have added cole and jovanovic, so where not that weak.

Im under no illusions, im not expecting it to be 'our' year, and we wont be anywhere near the title, but, i think we will do a lot better than last season, and may even put up a genuine challenge for 4th.

Kuyt, don't make me laugh. He's total shit. He was played as a striker for ages before getting put on the wing. Only reason he is stayed in the side is because he runs alot. Kuyt is so shit, Benitez would rather play Ngog up top by himself.

Lets see how strong the front line is when Torres misses half the season, see who'll be filling his boots.

 

Remy hasnt signed yet, he wants to, and his club have said liverpool are in pole position to sign him if we want him, but roy doesnt have a lot of money to play with, and they have said if we match west hams £8.5m offer, its a done deal.

jovanovic, is a serbian winger/striker. signed from standard liege, scored the winner for serbia against germany in the world cup.

in this day and age of player power, if he wanted to leave, he would. if it comes down to it, he is 30, he isnt getting any younger, and is still worth a pretty penny, so if there is a time to sell him, its now, but i still cant see it tbh, unless he comes out and says, he wants to leave, which i dont think he will, especially as we have just signed cole, which is a statement of intent for the future.

i think Stevie and Nando will stay, Masher, he has wanted out for the last 12 months, and has already said living in liverpool, in his words, is a misery for his family, so i think he will be away to a warmer climate. but if its to Inter Milan, we need to remind MR Benitez, that last summer, when barca bid £25M for him, he said he was worth twice that, and seeing as he was one of our best players last season, his price hasnt dropped

 

I wouldn't be surprised! As Hodgeson has said he cannot get in touch with him after the world cup had finished.... At least he's £25mil which will add funds to the kitty
