Default FAO Builders/chimney sweeps.

Ok so i have bought a house and we have removed the old gas fire and back boiler.
Now i am left with a very dirty chimney and a length of copex.
I wont be fitting a gas fire as i wont need it so i will be having an electric fire setup merely to fill the gap and for looks.

If i go the elecrtic fire route and want the chimney cleaning does the copex need to be removed/do i need a new chimney pot/ does the chimney opening need to be boraded/blocked off and what sort of price should the cleaning/pot and copex removal cost?

Thanks

Mart.

Get/ask a proper chimney sweep company to come in and give you a quote!

I woundnt bother asking a builder, chimney sweep company is your best bet!!

Have already had a quote from one but was wondering if anyone on here knew the ins and outs of it too.
Was hoping a builder would know something about the chimney regs regarding the copex/pot/ventilation.

Thanks

Mart.
