I'm waiting for the new Nokia N8, not out until September - but looks pretty good!
I've managed to avoid the iBone

Dan.. Same with my 3gs. When I recieve a call, sometimes the front screen locks up and doesn't allow me to move the slider to answer! And a lot of people have said it goes straight thru to answer phone even tho the phones been on.
As a phone I don't think they are great.. As a mobile Internet thing they are superb.

I had an i phone which i sold and got the htc desire a few weeks back and is so so much better and glad i went for it. Course Desire has 3g and video plus a better screen and processor All in all the best phone ive ever had, cant compare to the new i phone though as not had one.

It has 3g mate and the net is bloody quick, quicker than my i phone was at loading pages and sites. There is a test somewhere on you tube, i phone vs htc desire internet and the desire won in alot of the tests

Im now bored of the iphone............ AS A PHONE
I know its all been said before but i agree with the people who have said the iphone is only good as a toy/gadget/internet device, and as a normal phone (or smart phone) its not good.
Still it lasted about 1 month before i got pissed off with not being able to do tasks which lesser/older phones can do

I wouldn't wait for the HTC 4G/Evo ... its a CDMA phone and has no 3G/GSM capabilities so won't be released in the UK
At the moment the Desire is the one to go for. The Samsung Galaxy S is a similar spec device, however the build quality is not that great and it's missing HTCs SenseUI which really completes Android.
The iPhone 4 is the next best thing, although the cost is shocking for what it is. Rumors this morning of a recall on the iPhone 4 too.
Android 2.2 is also out and about too, however HTC have yet to release the SenseUI version. There are plenty of pre-release/hacked versions of 2.2 doing the rounds for the Desire, and the performance is impressive. Full flash support in the browser is very cool.

I've got a Desire, it's ok I suppose. Very quiet ringtone though, and can be a right pain when replying to text's. Only reason I had it above the Iphone was cost, only £15 monthly compared to £35 for the apple.
